Training for Visually Impaired Men & Women Print E-mail

IDB-BISEW has initiated a pilot project for training of visually impaired men and women to create their employment opportunities in Telemarketing Service Sectors through the institute of Hazrat Mohammad SAW.

Offering impeccable customer service is critical for any organization or company hoping to create and maintain a loyal customer base. 4 months Call Centre Telemarketing Training for Visually Impaired Men & Women imparts a vast skill set upon its participants so that, upon completion, they are prepared to take on the role of call center customer service representative with confidence. Organized into 6 components, the three months training covers the following topics: use of IP telephony, customer service, soft skills, communication, relationship building, sales and marketing, operations, human resources, and Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel programs.

The pilot project will play a significant role towards the generation of employment and ultimately the alleviation of poverty for the visually impaired poor men and women. IDB-BISEW is sincerely committed to making this project a successful one.

Objectives of the Project

It has been observed that there is a limited scope of IT training for the visually impaired. IDB-BISEW has taken this initiative to provide Call Centre Telemarketing Training to create opportunities forempowering the visually impaired to seek gainful employment.


Selected Training Service Provider (TSP)

Considering the available infrastructure and Instructor strength the Institute of Hazrat Mohammad SAW, located in Dhaka, have been selected for the training of the pilot project. It is to be mentioned that IDB-BISEW shared the training implementation costs and the Institute of Hazrat Mohammad SAW shared its training infrastructure.


Training Description

The Call Centre Telemarketing Training consists of training on Microsoft Excel, use of IP telephony, Spoken English, Communication, Call Centre Etiquettes and Stress Management. It is to be deliveredover a period of 4 months (2 hours contact & hands-on sessions in 3 days weekly)

Project Beneficiaries

9 visually impaired students were selected from different universities considering their financial conditions. Out of 9 trainees, 8 visually impaired men and women have completed 4 months Call Center Telemarketing Training. The Institute of Hazrat Mohammad SAW is taking initiatives for their placement. Name of the beneficiaries are given below:
